Description: Upon completion of this conference, participants should be able to (1) discuss how monoclonal antibodies that neutralize a diversity of HIV isolates can protect against HIV infection of nonhuman primates when passively administered to animals prior to challenge; (2) examine some promising vaccine candidates from large scale human trials data; (3) discuss the creation of new strategies for HIV vaccination from basic immunology and AIDS immunopathogenesis studies data; and (4) develop new collaborations among the scientists in attendance and new insights that will lead to novel and effective interventions.
