Description: Event Type: Conference. Subject: Clinical Trials; HIV/AIDS; Intervention Strategies; Vaccine Development Research. Notes: The early registration fee is $525 and $350 for students, if paid before or on February 12, 2004; after February 12, 2004, the fee is $625 and $450 for students. Registration for the meeting allows attendance at the joint meeting (pending space availability). Continuing education credits are available. Description: Upon completion of this conference, participants should be able to (1) discuss how monoclonal antibodies that neutralize a diversity of HIV isolates can protect against HIV infection of nonhuman primates when passively administered to animals prior to challenge; (2) examine some promising vaccine candidates from large scale human trials data; (3) discuss the creation of new strategies for HIV vaccination from basic immunology and AIDS immunopathogenesis studies data; and (4) develop new collaborations among the scientists in attendance and new insights that will lead to novel and effective interventions. This is a joint meeting with the Meeting of Molecular Mechanisms of HIV Pathogenesis (X7).
